Trump picked out a target who doesn't have much in the way of popular support, and who's a mild critic who basically depicts Trump as a dummy, and Trump's administration have put on a real show of force over what's probably a paper thin legal pretext, in an attempt to intimidate other potential critics into silence.

Oh yeah, and it's also an attempt to distract from Trump's Epstein connection.

It's an authoritarian move that would have been unthinkable in the United States until extremely recently. It's an attempt to test the boundaries of Trump's power. And people who believe in democracy and freedom would be wise to put aside their personal feelings about John Bolton and remember that if today's action goes unchallenged, then that would become a precedent which could be weaponized against anyone.

I believe that Trump has zero qualms about harming anyone who disagrees with him or gets in his way, has ZERO morals or ethics, and is a narcissistic sociopath who is now using the FBI and DOJ as a weapon against American citizens who piss him off. A big sign to me about the raid, it took 7 months to do the raid.. So either they are meticulous with the criminal case against John Bolton, or it took them seven months to find a couple papers or anything  that Bolton has that isn’t in the National Archives, and use it as a weapon against Bolton..The Biden Administration would had gotten a heads up if Bolton keep some compartmentalized classified information, and proceed in either a criminal case or a strong letter to Bolton to get the material back..  Much like classified information was found in Biden Storing his VP papers in his garage..  I doubt the information that Bolton has is that top secret..  However, a Judge signed off on the warrant, the DOJ top brass most likely had to approve of it before moving forward..

A. A surprising number of people with access to classified documents seem to take them home, maybe we should not let that happen in the first place.
B. When a former president/VP does it they let them voluntarily turn them over instead of going straight to raiding their house. 
C. This is obviously politically motivated because he's said bad things about trump.
D. If Bolton had/has half a brain he'd have made sure he didn't have any classified documents well before the raid and will end up beating these charges.
E. This won't be the last politically motivated use of the FBI we'll see.

The most disgusting part is Pam Bondi gushing over how "unconstitutional" it was for the FBI to raid Mar a Lago looking for the classified documents he refused to return after having months to do so - and claiming that there will be "no more weaponization" of the government while doing the exact same thing to Bolton. All while simultaneously seizing control of local police and the national guard AND deploying the military to the streets of blue cities, and ignoring that the most violent cities in the country are all Red.

I still haven’t seen any reporting on *why* his house was raided. 

In most of the reporting I’ve seen over my life (I’m pretty old) I usually hear a sentence like “the warrant was executed after a complaint of xyz” 

There is just usually some sort of context as to why the warrant was executed unless there is a specific possibility that releasing the warrant information would somehow jeopardize an ongoing investigation or something. 

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if this was just some super lame “we raided his house and found a copy of the unredacted Epstein files, before bad actors added President Trump’s name to the files 147 times.”

And then try to pass off some shit they doctored with MS Paint.

I believe this is in direct response to Bolton declaring last week that, even though trump’s meeting with Putin was to occur on US soil, Putin had “already won.” It’s been a while, so I’ll remind everyone that even before he was trump’s first-term National Security Advisor, Bolton was notoriously, adamantly, and loudly anti-Putin and anti-Russia.

I was just telling my DIL that I think that hearing from his advisor-turned-critic tickled a memory in the back of his tiny, rotten brain; a stream of diarrhea gushed forth from his pie hole; his lap dogs gobbled it up; and immediately set about finding a judge who would sign off on the search warrants (his office was simultaneously searched, which a former Federal prosecutor explained is standard practice when a home is searched).

As an American, those are my thoughts on this.

I’d say if Bolton has the files he should be raided. If they are just doing it to harass him then probably not.
